1. It boosts your immune system

Researchers found that among a group of people vaccinated against hepatitis A infection, those got a good night’s sleep afterwards showed a stronger immune response to the vaccine.  19 men and women were subject to the experiment.  Half the group got a full night’s sleep after being immunized, while the rest were kept awake that night and the following day until evening.  Four weeks later, the well-rested group on average had almost twice the antibody level of the sleep-deprived group.

2. It helps you look better

When someone says they have to get there beauty sleep, they mean it.   When you sleep, the body goes into repair mode and regenerates skin, blood and brain cells, as well as muscles.  Dark circles around the eyes can be one of the first signs of disturbed sleeping patterns.

3. It makes you smarter

A recent study by Harvard Medical School found that people who slept after learning and practicing a new task remembered more about it the following day than people who stayed up all night learning the same thing.  So a good night’s sleep can be more beneficial than several nights of cramming.

4. It’ll make you a nicer person

Sleep deprivation effects your mood, we all know this.  When we get little to no sleep we are usually more cranky than normal.  Lack of sleep will make you cranky, aggressive and unsociable.  In extreme cases, sleep deprivation causes disorientation and paranoia.

5. It increases concentration

Sleep Deprivation suffers have increased irritability and reduced concentration.  You are more likely to make mistakes and have a slower reaction time.

Hope this helps, thank you again for reading my blog and post a comment if like or dislike something in particular.

post 4 simple ways to beat jealousy

Either it is jealousy of a coworker promoted ahead of you or knowing that you wife has a social life and you don’t. Everyone has experienced jealousy in one for or another. Jealousy is normal emotion for humans and like all our emotions it shouldn’t be ignored. But it can be one of the most destructive emotions, so it should be learned to be controlled. Here is a diet for your mind that will help you lose those jealous thoughts.

1. Be thankful for what you have

Weather it be for your little studio apartment or your dinner for one. The truth is that many people wish they had just a fraction of what most of us take for granted. Just being able to read this on a computer is something to be thankful for. I know its hard just to switch to a new way of thinking, so start slow. Try saying one thing you are thankful for everyday. Just one thing that is good in your life. It could be your wonderful family or girlfriend. Or maybe you have a good friend that that you like playing Halo 3 with. How about that nice waitress in the coffee shop that smiles at you whenever you go there for an iced coffee. It could be anything. Then when you are used to that try saying 5 things, then 15. This helps to put your world into perspective. Concentrating on the positive of what you do have rather than the negative of what we don’t have.

2. Acknowledge your accomplishments

No matter how small it is always give yourself a pat on the back. Think about it, if you aren’t going to say “good job” who will. You should be your number one fan.  positive reinforcment is great for the your self esteem.  If your self esteem is high then you jealous feelings will decrease, beauce you realize that you dont need whatever someone else has to be happy.  Try small things like: if you get up on time for work, say good job to yourself. If you help a friend move, tell yourself you are awesome for helping your friend out. Try to do this at least a couple a time a day. And soon you will start to notice that your mindset will change and you wont be so hard on yourself.

3. Stay Active

An idle mind gets you into trouble.  Keeping your mind and body active is great way to stop those jealous feeling.  Staying active is a great thing no matter what.  But don’t over do it, using activities to pretend the problem isnt there is not healthy in the long run.  Go running, play basketball, get an Xbox 360.

4. Seek help

If your feelings are too much to bear, find someone to talk to about it.  It could be a close friend, family member or professional help.  Talking about the problem helps takes the pressure off it.  Just verbalizing your problems helps to take the importance off it in your mind.  Discuss why you have such strong feelings, and how it is manifesting itself.

I hope this helps you get rid of those jealous feelings.  It is a normal human emotion but it can kill relationships and your mental health.  Remember you are awesome!!!
